With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Rhonda (Nonnie) Lynn Loyd, who entered eternal rest on June 2, 2025, at the age of 57. Rhonda was born on May 27, 1968, in Galesburg, Illinois to Patricia Rutledge and John Lloyd, and from the very beginning, she brought light, laughter, a spunk of an attitude and a one-of-a-kind energy to everyone who knew her.
Rhonda was a mother to her two beloved sons, Jeffery Scott and Christopher Wayne Laird, and i proud grandmother to several precious grandchildren Brayden, Vaida, Ellery, Tristan, Jesslyn, Emory, Taelyn, Brentley, and Braxton who were the joy of her life. She loved nothing more than talking with her grandbabies-showering them with affection, and the kind of love only a grandma like Rhonda could give. She also adored her fur baby (BabyGirl).
She was a loving sister to Shelly, Brenda, and Lisa, and half-siblings Rodney, Ronald, and Robin Rhonda had a special bond with her nieces and nephews, each one holding a unique place in he heart. She adored her nieces Letasha, Jenna, Savannah, Hannah Faith and her nephews Jeffrey Lee, Justin, Cliffy, David Grant. She was also deeply proud of her many great-nieces and great-nephews, Lil Jeff, Jaylen, Amyiah, Malyiah, Jayla, Serenity, Kaleigh Grace, Bentley, Jacob, Hunte Haygen, Harleigh, Kason, Jaxtyn, and Kaizleigh. A Great Aunt to Zylyn, Kysen, and Zaileigh whor she loved like her own.
Rhonda also leaves behind several beloved aunts and uncles, along with a host of cousins and extended family members who cherished her deeply.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, John; her 2nd father, Joel, her grandparents, her niece she treasured most Hannah Faith, and her niece, Adrian.
Known for her passion for cleaning, cooking, and helping others, Rhonda had a servant's heart. Whether she was preparing a warm meal, babysitting, or simply lending an ear, she had a way of making people feel seen, cared for, and loved. Kids naturally gravitated to her, and she always made time for them, often the first to show up.
Rhonda was, in her own words and the words of those who loved her, "a rolling stone." She lived life on her own terms-boldly, honestly, and with a spirit that refused to be tamed. She was full of spunk, quick wit, and a laugh that could light up a room. She wasn't perfect, but she was real, and she was amazing in ways that mattered most.
Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched, the memories she made, and the love she gave freely. Though she is no longer with us in the flesh, Rhonda Lynn's spirit, strength, and sass will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest easy, Rhonda. You are and always will be deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
