Marion Ivan Greer, 89 of Commerce departed this life on January 16, 2024. His Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The Homegoing Service will be held at First United Methodist Church - Commerce, TX 1709 State Hwy 50, Commerce, TX 75428.
Public Visitation will be held will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6 PM at

Marion Ivan Greer was born May 5, 1935 to parents William Matthew Greer and Mary Etta Wilburn. He passed away peacefully in the hospital on January 16, 2024.
He attended public school in Commerce, TX. He served in the Korean War for the United States Navy. He served as a police officer for the Commerce Police Department and also as a Deputy Sheriff for Delta County.
Later in life, he was called to the ministry while attending Griffith Chapel CME until he retired. However, he never stopped sharing the gospel with everyone that he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his wife Velma Greer, his parents William and Mary Etta Greer, Brothers William and Weldon Greer, and two sons Ivan and Nolan Greer.
Marion leaves to cherish his memories,
His sons: Richard K. Gibson of Dallas, TX, Britt Greer and Jermaine Greer of Commerce, TX.
His daughters: Mary Joe Pierce of Vancouver, Wa., Chante McMurtrie (Joseph) of Suffolk, Va., Marsha Jones and Myiesha Christian (Jeremy) of Greenville, TX., Latonya Greer and Shelia Luckey (Larry) of Commerce, TX., Ann Biggers of Denison, TX.,
Special Daughters: Karen Harris, Sharon Ruth, Chantel Browne, Vera and Tatiana Booth, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
